I receive complicated emails from potential patients almost weekly about possible scenarios and I am quizzed about costs.

Implants
An implant is a titanium fixture which can be used to hold teeth into the jaw. The special surface of the implant fuses with the jaw to act as a root to fix individual teeth, bridges, or even dentures in position.
Does it hurt?
In simple cases it can be almost painless. In complex cases there will be some bruising and swelling. Chris is an expert in very experienced with sedation technique and can make the procedure comfortable and relaxing for you.
Am I suitable?
Telephone and book a free implant consultation! Really that's the best way to find out. There's nothing to lose.
Almost everyone is suitable. However the most common problems are:
- Lack of bone. when teeth are removed the jawbone shrinks. We can normally get around that by grafting
- Costs. Implant treatments are more expensive than bridges or dentures. I promise I will do my best to minimize your costs by keen pricing, offering you suitable alternatives if appropriate, and effective treatment planning. I doubt you could get better value for money elsewhere
- General dental health. Sometimes people aren't in the best of shape
Does it work? How long does it last?
Implant therapy is one of the most successful treatments offered in dentistry. Success rates approach 100%. Implants are extremely likely to outlast your other teeth.
What does it look like?
You will never see the implant. The teeth on top are disguised to look like real teeth.
Sedation
If you are at all anxious about dental treatment this is definitely the answer for you. Almost everyone is suitable. A drug like valium is administered gradually to help you feel sleepy and relaxed throughout your dental treatment. It's as if it never happened! For the most anxious a pre-op can help you through the night before, or just help get you to the surgery. Come and have a chat. I can help, no matter how bad your anxiety.
